Avatar of Lyssa
Eternal Aura (ALWAYS IN PVE)
Heart of fury (ALWAYS HAVE AN IAS)
Sunspear Res signet
Mystic Sweep
Eremite's Attack
Radiant Scythe
Mystic regeneration <-Debatable, but imo you always need a form of selfheal or protection
This is the standard Lyss build. You use Radiant scythe because it will close to always max out with Lyssa. You use Eremite's and Mystic to punish casters; when they begin casting you spam these two attacks (sometimes you get them both hit while casting) to get the +attack bonus from Lyssa.

D/W:
Lyssa
Flail/Heart of Fury
Mystic Sweep/Eremite's Sweep
Victorious Sweep
Eternal Aura
Aura of Holy Might
Wild Blow/Distracting Blow/Prot Strike
Res Sig
Alternatively:
Lyssa
Prot Strike
Mystic Sweep
Eremite's Sweep
Zealous Renewal
Aura of Holy Might
Eternal Aura
Res Sig
Edit: Fixed typo referenced below.

Aura of Holy Might is also a good skill.
Also, Burst made a typo: it's flail/heart of fury. Heart of Holy Flame makes you deal holy dmg, which is nice but not an IAS.

It is, sometimes it's better to take Lightbringer's Gaze, aspect of the Norn or something else.

I've successfully run a Lyssa build with no protection stuff at all. It also means you do more damage than if you sink anything into earth prayers.
Oh, and if you can get Great Dwarf Armor, that has a substantial defensive buff without requiring attribute points.
Build I run for pure DPS is:
Victorious Sweep
Radiant Scythe
Eremite's Attack
Heart of Fury
Aura of Holy Might
Avatar of Lyssa
Eternal Aura
Sunspear Rebirth Signet
It may work fairly well to swap Victorious Sweep for Wild Blow as well, since that's an auto-critical. And I would agree that "I am the strongest" is a good choice if you don't need the res.
Only thing with Radiant Scythe is that it requires a good supply of energy to be really effective, so it's probably best to use with a zealous weapon (e.g. Droknar's Reaper, since that extends AoHM to 24 seconds anyway).

Could swap Wearying Strike with [wiki]Radiant Scythe[/wiki] and take a res instead of SoM if you have another person with deep wound.

wearing + condition removal is lame and slow. if you want a deep wound easily, bring Augury of Death

I used a sword and shield for a big portion of nightfall with a Lyss build.
The faster base attack speed of swords/axes/daggers synergies well with this elite form.
Sword and axe also give you access to a (tactics) shield for that little extra protection.
If I remember I had something like :
[skill]Distracting blow[/skill][skill]Barbarous Slice[/skill][skill]Jaizhenju Strike[/skill][skill]Silverwing Slash[/skill][skill]Heart of Fury[/skill][wiki]eternal aura[/wiki][skill]avatar of lyssa[/skill][wiki]Sunspear Rebirth signet[/wiki]
I'm not entirelly sure about the attack skills. There might be better options. I know you could get more fast activating skills in there, but a sword with heart of fury hits pretty fast all the time.
Well I didn't have eternal aura back then off course, but I would add it now. :-) Remember that eternal aura also recharges heart of fury. I probably had Galrath's slash or Gash instead.

thats a dervish build, and not a bad one. a scythe build is better, but not that much better.

Oh it is a bad one. What reason is there to use a sword? Oh, because that .42 of a second increased speed makes all the difference? Cmon, Derv + lyssa + scythe + timed attack skills >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> that garbage.

And beside that, it's not using Lyssa's 2nd most important boost: +20 energy. With that much of additional energy AoL builds are capable of having expensive attacks skills/enchantments, remember that.

He has on his bar
Radiant Scythe 5 energy 6 recharge
Scythe Attack. This attack strikes for +2 damage for each point of Energy you currently have (maximum 5...41...50 damage).
Good damage every 6 seconds

I think the discussion between Coloneh and Dan was about that sword-build. Can't see a Lyssa's +20e use there completely.
